Coltan Mine Collapse in Congo Kills 200 Instantly
At least 200 people died instantly after a landslide struck several areas at a coltan mining site in Congo.
The landslide occurred on Wednesday (January 28th) at the Rubaya mine in North Kivu Province.
North Kivu Province Governor Lumumba Kambere Muyisa, a spokesperson for the governor of North Kivu Province, said the landslide was caused by heavy rains.
"Currently, more than 200 people have died. Some are still buried in the mud and have not been found," Muyisa said on Saturday (January 31), as reported by The Independent.
